ياO واحدَpeerless one الناسِmankind لاnot مُستثنياًexcepting أحَداًanyone
إذfor كانَhe was دونapart from الورىall mankind بالمجدin glory منفرداalone
O peerless among mankind, with no one excepted,
O you who are unique among people, none excluded
For he stood alone in glory, apart from all others.
As you stand alone in glory below the heavens
أماdo ... not? ترىyou see الروضَthe garden قدalready لاقاكmet you مبتسماًsmiling
ومدّand stretched out نحوَtoward الندامىthe drinking companions للسَلامِin greeting يَداa hand
Do you not see how the garden has met you with a smile,
Do you not see the meadow greeting you with a smile?
And stretched a hand toward the drinking companions in greeting?
And reaching out with peace to the repentant
فاخضَرَّso turned green ناضِرُهُits fresh growth فيamid أبيضٍwhite يَقَقٍpure, dazzling white
واصفَرَّand turned yellow فاقِعُهُits vivid yellow hue فيamid أحمرٍred نُضِداwas arrayed
So its fresh growth turned green amid pure white,
Its vibrant green against immaculate white
And its bright hue turned yellow amid red arrayed—
And its ripened yellow against deepest red
مثلُlike الرقيبِthe watcher بداappeared للعاشقَينِto the two lovers ضُحىat midmorning
فاحمَرَّso turned red ذاthis one خجلاًwith shame واصفَرَّand turned yellow ذاthis one كَمَداwith grief
Like the watcher who appeared before the two lovers at midmorning:
Like a watchman it appears to the lovers at dawn
So one turned red with shame, and the other yellow with grief.
Blushing red with shyness and pale yellow with yearning
