And gardens for which the Pleiades wove

Robes whose yarn was spun by thunder.

The rain scattered pearls of tears upon them,

So they adorned themselves with pearls like those of necklaces.

    Chrysanthemums embracing anemones,

Like mouths biting the roses of cheeks.

And eyes of narcissus come into view,

    Like eyes kept ceaselessly awake.

And the anemones, when they appeared, seemed

The darkness of temple-locks on the cheeks of graceful women.

And the dew upon them seemed like tears

In the eyelids of a woman mourning one she has lost.
