نَحنُ بَنُو جَعدَةَ أَربابُ الفَلَج

نَحنُ بَنُو جَعدَةَ أَربابُ الفَلَج

نَحنُ مَنَعنا سَيلَهُ حَتّى اِعتَلَج

We are the sons of Jaʿdah, lords of al-Falaj.

We are the sons of Ja'dah, masters of the waterways

We held back its torrent until it churned.

We held back its flooding until it was obstructed

نَضرِبُ بِالبِيضِ وَنَرجُو بِالفَرَج

نَضرِبُ بِالبِيضِ وَنَرجُو بِالفَرَج

We strike with white swords and hope for relief.
