عَلىon لاحِبٍa clear, broad road كَحَصِيِرlike a mat الصَناthe craftswoman (continued)
عَلى لاحِبٍ كَحَصِيِر الصَنا
عِ(completes 'craftswoman') سَوَّىmade even لَهاfor her الصِنفَthe border إرِمالُهاher weaving
عِ سَوَّى لَها الصِنفَ إرِمالُها
On a clear road, like a craftswoman's mat,
Like straw mats of San’a is my love
whose border her weaving had made even for her.
He built up for her type and line
فَذَرso leave ذاthis وَلكنَّand yet بابِيَّةًa marvel
فَذَر ذا وَلكنَّ بابِيَّةً
وَعيدُthreats قُشَيرٍQushayr وَأَقوالُهاand its words
وَعيدُ قُشَيرٍ وَأَقوالُها
So leave that aside; yet a marvel
Leave that one be, but fair Babiyyah
are Qushayr's threats and its words.
