إِذاif أَنتَyou لَمnot تَنفَعyou help فَضُرَّthen do harm فَإِنَماfor only
إِذا أَنتَ لَم تَنفَع فَضُرَّ فَإِنَما
يُرَجَّىis hoped for الفَتَىthe young man كَيماso that يَضُرُّhe harms ويَنفَعُand he helps
يُرَجَّى الفَتَى كَيما يَضُرُّ ويَنفَعُ
If you do not help, then do harm; for it is only
If you cannot benefit, at least do no harm,
to harm and to help that a young man is looked to.
For the merit of a man is that he does good or evil.
