هذا الدَعيُّ الذي غَي
رُcompletion of غَيْرُ: other than جَهلهhis ignorance لمdid not يُهِنهُdisgrace him
رُ جَهله لم يُهِنهُ
This pretender, whom nothing but
his ignorance has disgraced,
يَروىhe recounts الغريبَthe strange وَتُروىand are recounted
يَروى الغريبَ وَتُروى
غرائِبُwonders اللُؤمbaseness عنهُabout him
غرائِبُ اللُؤم عنهُ
recounts the strange, while there are recounted
about him wonders of baseness.
لطاهرٍto Ṭāhir مُنتهاهhis endpoint
لطاهرٍ مُنتهاه
والكَلبُand the dog أطهرُpurer مِنهُthan he
والكَلبُ أطهرُ مِنهُ
His lineage leads back to Ṭāhir,
yet a dog is purer than he.
