عَشِيَّة أرضيت الوُشاةِ وَأَثَّرَتْ
بِناon us عَينكyour eye اليُسرىleft جَذَمْتِyou severed البَواقِياwhat remained
بِنا عَينك اليُسرى جَذَمْتِ البَواقِيا
That evening you pleased the slanderers, and a mark was left
The evening when you bid the rumour-mongers farewell
On us by your left eye; you severed what remained.
And your left eye moved us, annihilating what remained
