فَلَسْتَ لِلأُمِّ من عَبْسٍ وَمِن أَسَدٍ

فَلَسْتَ لِلأُمِّ من عَبْسٍ وَمِن أَسَدٍ

وَإِنَّما أَنتَ دينارُ بنُ دينارِ

وَإِنَّما أَنتَ دينارُ بنُ دينارِ

So, on your mother’s side, you are of neither ʿAbs nor Asad.

You are not from a frowning or a lion mother

But you are only Dīnār, son of Dīnār.

But you are a gold coin from a gold coin father

وَإِن تَكُنْ أَنتَ مِن عَبسٍ وَأمِّهِم

وَإِن تَكُنْ أَنتَ مِن عَبسٍ وَأمِّهِم

فَإِنَّ أُمّكُمُ مِن جارَةِ الجارِ

فَإِنَّ أُمّكُمُ مِن جارَةِ الجارِ

And if you are descended from ʿAbs and their mother,

And if you are from the frowning ones and their mothers

then your mother is descended from the neighbor’s female neighbor.

Then your mother is a neighbor of the neighbor
