وَقَولُand the call الغُرابِof the raven لَهاfor her شاهِدُa witness
وَقَولُ الغُرابِ لَها شاهِدُ
The sandgrouse tells me of deliverance,
and the raven's call bears witness to her words.
تَقولُshe says أَلاbehold قَدalready دَناhas drawn near نازِحٌone far away
تَقولُ أَلا قَد دَنا نازِحٌ
فِداءٌa ransom لَهُfor him الطارِفُthe newly acquired wealth التالِدُthe inherited wealth
فِداءٌ لَهُ الطارِفُ التالِدُ
She says: Behold, one far away has drawn near.
May newly acquired and inherited wealth be his ransom.

A brother—our mother was not his mother,
but our father is one and the same.
