Sol 6.1

  1. إِذا ما خَلَوْتَ الدَّهْرَ يَوْماً فَلا تَقُلْ

    خَلَوْتُ وَلَكِنْ قُلْ عَلَيَّ رَقِيبُ

    If ever one day in your life you are alone, do not say,

    "I am alone"; rather say, "A watcher is over me."

  2. وَلا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللهَ يَغْفَلُ ساعَةً

    وَلا أَنَّ ما يَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ يَغِيبُ

    And never suppose that God is heedless for an hour,

    Nor that what is hidden escapes Him.

  3. إِذا كانَتِ السَّبْعُونَ أَمَّكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ

    لِدائِكَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَمُوتَ طَبِيبُ

    When seventy years have become your mother, there is no

    Physician for your ailment but death.

  4. وَإِنَّ امْرَأً قَدْ سارَ سَبْعِينَ حِجَّةً

    إِلَى مَنْهَلٍ مِنْ وِرْدِهِ لَقَرِيبُ

    And indeed, a man who has journeyed seventy years

    Toward a watering place is surely close to reaching it.

  5. إِذا ما انْقَضَى الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي أَنْتَ مِنْهُمُ

    وَخُلِّفْتَ فِي قَرْنٍ فَأَنْتَ غَرِيبُ

    When the generation to which you belong has passed away,

    And you are left behind among another generation, then you are a stranger.
