ذَكَرتُ اليَومَ داراً هَيَّجَتني
لِزَبّانَbelonging to Zabbān بنَson of سَيّارِSayyār بنَson of عَمروِʿAmr
لِزَبّانَ بنَ سَيّارِ بنَ عَمروِ
Today I recalled a dwelling that stirred me,
I recalled today a house that stirred me up
belonging to Zabbān, son of Sayyār, son of ʿAmr—
Of Zabban son of Sayyar son of Amr
لَيالِيَnights تَستَبيكَshe captivates you بِجيدِwith the neck of رِئمٍa white gazelle
لَيالِيَ تَستَبيكَ بِجيدِ رِئمٍ
وَمَفلوقٍand a cleft vulva عَلَيهِover it الفَرمُthe tightening salve يَجريflows
وَمَفلوقٍ عَلَيهِ الفَرمُ يَجري
nights when she captivated you with a white gazelle’s neck,
Nights that weep down the cheek of a loving gazelle
and a cleft vulva over which the tightening salve flowed.
