تُدِلٌ بِما تَبلوهُ عِندي وَتَعرِفُ
She does me wrong, yet finds no wrong in wrongdoing—for she
She does wrong and finds no fault in wrongdoing, for she
takes liberties, sure of what she has tested in me and knows.
takes liberties, relying on what she has found in me and knows.
فَمِنso from أَينَwhere ماever اِستَعطَفتُهاI sought her sympathy لاnot تَرِقُّshe softens ليtoward me
فَمِن أَينَ ما اِستَعطَفتُها لا تَرِقُّ لي
وَمِنand from أَينَwhere ماever جَرَّبتَyou tested صَبرِيَmy patience يَضعُفُit weakens
وَمِن أَينَ ما جَرَّبتَ صَبرِيَ يَضعُفُ
For no matter how I seek to move her pity, she does not soften toward me;
So however I seek her sympathy, she shows me no tenderness;
yet no matter how she tries my patience, it gives way.
and however you test my patience, it weakens.
