The lights of dawn have risen over Egypt,
and night has traded its darkness for day.
And the night has changed its darkness into day.

The eyes of reverent men are gladdened now
glory-bearing signs before their eyes.
As signs of glory they display.

Long have we raised our hands beseeching
in hope of this return in the hours before dawn.
For this return at break of day.
