فَحاكَت نِسمَة الاِسحار
Pages were penned at once,
Sheets penned at once,
and matched the breeze before dawn.
And so they resembled the breeze before dawn.

with them the east wind’s fragrance has traveled,
Through which the fragrance of youth has wafted,

So generously grant him life,
So generously bestow life upon it,
that he may quench the ember of his thoughts.
So it may quench the ember of thoughts.
