My heart, because of your absence, did not value my company,

And fled toward a beloved, in whose breast is my Lord.

Tell me, by your radiant countenance and its glory,

And judge as you please—may you enjoy your heart’s desire:

Without a heart, can we keep Aisha’s soul alive?

No, by Him who adorned this glory with refinement.
