فيin مَعهَدabode الراحwine وَجَدّتوI found him يرتشفhe sips راحاتdraughts of wine
في مَعهَد الراح وَجَدّتو يرتشف راحات
مِنout of حُسنِgraciousness ظرفوhis charm سمحhe allowed ليto me أَلثمI kiss الراحاتthe palms
مِن حُسنِ ظرفو سمح لي أَلثم الراحات
In wine’s abode, I found him sipping draughts of wine.
In the house of comfort I found him sipping comforts
With gracious charm, he let me kiss his palms.
From his good manners he allowed me to kiss the comforts
نِعمhow splendid are المَواهِبthe gifts وجودpresence الروحthe soul وَالراحاتand comforts
نِعم المَواهِب وجود الروح وَالراحات
ساعَهan hour سَعيدَهhappy بِشَملwith the gathering of الحظgood fortune ياO قَلبيmy heart
ساعَه سَعيدَه بِشَمل الحظ يا قَلبي
What splendid gifts: the soul’s presence and repose!
Bountiful gifts, the presence of spirit and comforts
A happy hour, with fortune gathered round, O my heart!
A blissful hour with the gathering of fortune, O my heart
عادَتhave returned اِلَيكَto you الأَمانيthe hopes وَكلand all ماthat which راحwent away آتis coming
عادَت اِلَيكَ الأَماني وَكل ما راح آت
Hopes have returned to you, and all that went away is coming back.
The wishes and all that has passed have returned to you
