The gatherings of my life have departed, O dear folk of the quarter.
The gatherings of my life have departed, O dear folk of the quarter.
After this separation, do not tell them that I am alive.
After this separation, what do you say of one still living? [Verb uncertain.]

So, O east wind, greet the beloved—greet them!
O breeze of youth, greet the beloved ones—greet them.
I came to morning in my longing, just as I came to evening in prisons.
Morning finds me in longing, as evening did—in prisons.

And I complain to a living Judge of every burning grief that coursed through my heart.
And tell the troubles of my heart’s burning love to a living judge.
