سَلامُpeace اللَهِof God ماas long as طَلَعَتrose بُدورfull moons
سَلامُ اللَهِ ما طَلَعَت بُدور
كَطَلعَتِكَlike your countenance الَّتيwhich تَجلىis revealed لِعَينيto my eye
كَطَلعَتِكَ الَّتي تَجلى لِعَيني
May God's peace, as long as full moons rise,
The peace of God, never have stars risen
Like your countenance, which is revealed to my eye,
As your rising appeared to my eyes
عَلىupon مَنthe one who عِندَهُwith him روحىmy soul وَقَلبيand my heart
عَلى مَن عِندَهُ روحى وَقَلبي
وَمَسكَنُهُand his dwelling سَوادblackness المُقلَتَينِthe two eyes
وَمَسكَنُهُ سَواد المُقلَتَينِ
Be upon the one with whom are my soul and heart,
Upon the one who has my soul and heart
And whose dwelling is the black of my two eyes.
And whose home is in the blackness of my eyes
