I marveled at clay invading the realm of clouds,

though it was kin to pebbles, water, and firewood.

It walks, dragging the train of arrogance, and from

its garments filth oozes with lies.

It extends its palm to rancor and hatred.

It turns its cheek away in scorn from its mother and father.

O clay, if you do not preserve clay's sanctity,

you will live on earth unknown, without lineage.
