يُعَكِّرُ صفوَ أحلامي حَقُودُ

يُعَكِّرُ صفوَ أحلامي حَقُودُ

يظلُّ لكلِّ ساقطةٍ يصيدُ

يظلُّ لكلِّ ساقطةٍ يصيدُ

A spiteful man disturbs the serenity of my dreams.

The envious one disturbs the calm of my dreams

He keeps hunting for every slip.

He lurks to take down every fallen one

مساوئهُ تفشَّتْ في جُفوني

مساوئهُ تفشَّتْ في جُفوني

وما سلِم القريبُ ولا البعيدُ

وما سلِم القريبُ ولا البعيدُ

His misdeeds have spread through my eyelids.

His flaws spread through my eyelids

And neither the near nor the far has escaped harm.

Neither the near nor the far are safe

ومن تَخِذَ الضغينةَ للمعاصي

ومن تَخِذَ الضغينةَ للمعاصي

صراطاً خانَهُ الرأيُ السَّديدُ

صراطاً خانَهُ الرأيُ السَّديدُ

And whoever takes rancor, for sinful deeds,

And he who harbors grudges for sins

As a path—sound judgment has betrayed him.

Will be led astray even with right judgment

ومَنْ في جوفِهِ نارٌ تلظَّى

ومَنْ في جوفِهِ نارٌ تلظَّى

تدَفَّقَ بينَ شِدْقَيْهِ الصَّديدُ

تدَفَّقَ بينَ شِدْقَيْهِ الصَّديدُ

And whoever has a fire blazing within him,

And he whose core holds a blazing fire

Pus gushes between the corners of his mouth.

Venom flows between his lips
