Since Thursday, to the day.
وماand not وفيتyou kept faith بوعدwith a promise
وما وفيت بوعد
وماand not رعيتyou honored زماماa bond of obligation
وما رعيت زماما
And you have kept no promise,
Nor have you honored a bond.
إلامَuntil when أدعوكI call upon you عونيmy helper
إلامَ أدعوك عوني
ولاand not تجيبyou answer إلاماuntil when
ولا تجيب إلاما
How long shall I call on you, my helper,
And you not answer—how long?
وأينand where تنجزyou accomplish أمراًa task
وأين تنجز أمراً
وكيفand how تقضيyou fulfill مراماa goal
وكيف تقضي مراما
And where will you accomplish a task,
And how will you achieve a goal,
إنif كانis يومكyour day شهراًa month
إن كان يومك شهراً
وكانand is شهركyour month عاماa year
وكان شهرك عاما
If your day is a month,
And your month is a year?
خالفتyou went against بالخلفby breaking your promise عنديin my eyes
خالفت بالخلف عندي
ياO ابنson of الكرامthe noble الكراماthe noble
يا ابن الكرام الكراما
By breaking your word, you have, in my eyes, gone against
