  1. لو كان لي من مال قومي كما

    لي من مديحٍ بينَهم يَخلُدُ

    If I had as much of my people's wealth

    As I have of praise that endures among them,

  2. قضيت دَين القطر مستخلصاً

    أبوابه من دائن يرصد

    I would pay off the country's debt, freeing

    Its gates from a creditor lying in wait.

  3. مالي سوى ما أحسنتْ أجرة

    يا كنز أحسنتَ متى تنفد

    I have no payment but “How well you have done!”

    O treasure of “Well done!”, when will you run out?
