في الغرب والشرق دانيه وقاصيهِ
He reads the mail and learns of every event
in west and east, near and far.
ولمand he did not يجدfind عنكمُabout you يوماًon any day بهin it خبراًnews
ولم يجد عنكمُ يوماً به خبراً
فينثنيso he turns away وسعيرwhile the blaze الشوقof longing يكويهِscorches him
فينثني وسعير الشوق يكويهِ
Yet day after day he finds in it no news of you.
So he turns away, scorched by the blaze of longing.
صِلواkeep in touch with فتىًa young man لوeven if جفاهshunned him الناسthe people كلهمُall of them
صِلوا فتىً لو جفاه الناس كلهمُ
فشأنكمfor your affairs عنfrom شؤونthe affairs الناسof people يغنيهِsuffice him
فشأنكم عن شؤون الناس يغنيهِ
Keep in touch with a young man who, even if everyone shunned him,
would find your affairs enough to make him forget the affairs of others.
