مَنwhoever يَكُنmay be ذاpossessed of لِقَحٍmilch camels راِخياتِyielding milk freely
فَلِقاحيyet my milch camels ماdo not تَذُوقُtaste الشَّعيراbarley
Whoever has milch camels yielding freely—
Who has tender sprigs to graze,
Yet my milch camels taste no barley.
My grazing is not on barley.
بَلrather حَوابٍgreat jars فيin ظِلالِthe shade of فَسيلٍyoung date palms
مُلِئَتwere filled أَجوافُهُنَّtheir bellies عَصيراwith pressed juice
Rather, they are great jars in the shade of young date palms,
Rather, slender-waisted gazelles
Their bellies filled with pressed juice.
In the shade of torrents overflowing with juice,
فَتَهادَرنَso they rumbled to one another لِذاكَbecause of that زَماناًfor a time
ثُمَّthen مُوِّتنَthey were put to death فَكُنَّand so they became قُبُوراtombs
So they rumbled to one another because of it for a time,
Who tumbled for a time,
Then they were put to death and became tombs.
Then died and became graves.
