وأَصَفَرand a yellow gaming arrow مَضبُوحٍfire-scorched نَظَرتُI watched حَويَرهُits change
وأَصَفَر مَضبُوحٍ نَظَرتُ حَويَرهُ
عَلَىover النَّارِthe fire واسَتودعتهُand I entrusted it كَفَّthe hand of مُجمِدِa lot-drawer
عَلَى النَّارِ واسَتودعتهُ كَفَّ مُجمِدِ
And a yellow, fire-scorched gaming arrow—I watched it change
With a faded, ashen face I gazed upon him
Over the fire, and entrusted it to a lot-drawer’s hand.
