إنَّمَاonly لِقحَتُنَاour milch camel باطِيَةٌa wine jar
إنَّمَا لِقحَتُنَا باطِيَةٌ
جَونَةٌdark-colored يَتبَعُهَاfollowing it بِرزِينُهَاits small companion vessel
جَونَةٌ يَتبَعُهَا بِرزِينُهَا
Our milch camel is only a wine jar,
A dark one, with its little vessel following it.
فإِذاand when ماindeed حاَردَتit withheld its yield أوor بَكَأَتit gave little
فإِذا ما حاَردَت أو بَكَأَت
فُكَّwas broken off عَنfrom حاجِبِthe rim of أُخَرىanother one طِينُهَاits clay seal
فُكَّ عَن حاجِبِ أُخَرى طِينُهَا
And when it withholds its yield or gives but little,
The clay seal is broken from the rim of another.
