فَليتَso, if only دَفَعتَyou had banished الهَمَّsorrow عَنِّيَfrom me ساعَةًfor an hour

If only you had banished sorrow from me for an hour,
and we had spent the night, as she imagined, both at ease.
أَلَمhas it not يَشِفيَنكَsatisfied you أَنَّthat نَوميmy sleep مُسَهَّدٌsleepless
وشَوقيand my yearning إلىfor ماwhat يَعتَرينيbesets me وتَسهاليand my weeping
Has it not satisfied you that my sleep is sleepless,
that I yearn for what besets me, and that I weep?
