أَقفَرَ الحضرُ مِن نَضيَرةَ فالمر
باعُ—bāʿ (name continuation) مِنهاof her فجانِبُand the bank الثَّرثارِthe Tharthar
باعُ مِنها فجانِبُ الثَّرثارِ
Hatra lay deserted of Naḍīrah, and al-Mir—
bāʿ of her too, and the bank of the Tharthar,
إذwhen تَواصَواthey counseled one another بِالكَبشِabout the ram لَمّاonce أَحَسُّthey sensed (continued)
إذ تَواصَوا بِالكَبشِ لَمّا أَحَسُّ
وهُit (completes the preceding verb) وقالُواand they said مَعَwith الحِذارِcaution حَذارِbeware!
وهُ وقالُوا مَعَ الحِذارِ حَذارِ
when they counseled one another about the ram, once they sensed
it, and said, with caution, 'Beware!'
