اذاwhen زرتهyou visit him لمnot تلقyou encounter منfrom دونbefore بابهhis door
اذا زرته لم تلق من دون بابه
حجاباًa barrier ولمand not تدخلyou enter عليهinto his presence بشافعِwith an intercessor
حجاباً ولم تدخل عليه بشافعِ
When you visit him, you will not find before his door
a barrier, nor enter his presence through an intercessor.
كماءlike the water of الفراتthe Euphrates الجمabundant اعرضlies wide open وردهhis watering-place
كماء الفرات الجم اعرض ورده
لكلto every اناسpeople فهوso he is سهلeasy الشرائعthe approaches to water
لكل اناس فهو سهل الشرائع
Like the Euphrates’ abundant waters, his watering-place lies wide open
to all peoples; his paths to the water are easy.
تراهyou see him اذاwhen ماجئتهyou come to him (emphatic) متهللاbeaming
تراه اذا ماجئته متهللا
تهللthe beaming of ابكارmaidens للغيوثat the rains الهوامعpouring down
تهلل ابكار للغيوث الهوامع
You see him, whenever you come to him, beaming,
as maidens beam at the pouring rains.
