فكم حججٌ في طَيِّها ودلائل

فكم حججٌ في طَيِّها ودلائل

When a sign shines forth for the Hashimite,

When Hashimi's signs became clear

How many proofs and signs lie folded within it!

What proofs in its folds and evidence

فكم مرة آتى الغنى كفَّ سائل

فكم مرة آتى الغنى كفَّ سائل

وكم مرة أعطى المنى فكر سائل

وكم مرة أعطى المنى فكر سائل

How often he bestowed wealth upon a beggar's palm,

How often wealth came, stayed the hand of one who asks

And how often granted a questioner's mind its wishes!

And how often blessing gave thought to one who asks

له تحت أستار الغيوب شهادةٌ

له تحت أستار الغيوب شهادةٌ

مُعدَّلةٌ لم تبقِ قولاً لقائل

مُعدَّلةٌ لم تبقِ قولاً لقائل

Beneath the veils of the unseen lies testimony in his favor,

He has under curtains of the unseen, testimony

Duly authenticated, leaving no speaker a word to say.

Set right, no longer words of one who speaks

يحدث عما كان أو هو كائن

يحدث عما كان أو هو كائن

فقس آخراً من صدقه بالأوائل

فقس آخراً من صدقه بالأوائل

He tells of what has been or is to come;

He tells of what was and what is

So judge his later truths by the earlier ones.

So believe the last from his truth in the first

إذا الصدق لم يعوزك في غدواته

إذا الصدق لم يعوزك في غدواته

فلا شك في تصديقه بالأصائل

فلا شك في تصديقه بالأصائل

If truth has not failed you in his mornings,

If truth did not fail you in his comings

Then surely he is to be believed in the evenings.

No doubt in believing him in origins

وحسبك في الأنباء بالغيب أنَّه

وحسبك في الأنباء بالغيب أنَّه

ستسمعها بالنقل من قول قائل

ستسمعها بالنقل من قول قائل

And concerning reports of the unseen, it is enough for you that

And enough of news of unseen that

You will hear them transmitted from a speaker's words.
