إنيIndeed, I رأيتhave seen العزّhonor مستودعاًstored away
إني رأيت العزّ مستودعاً
فيin خدمةservice to الخلاقthe Creator سبحانَهglory be to Him
في خدمة الخلاق سبحانَه
Indeed, I have seen honor laid up
in service to the Creator—glory be to Him.
وخادمand the servant of المخلوقa created being فيin ذلّةhumiliation
وخادم المخلوق في ذلّة
تعمّengulfs أهليهhis family وجيرانهand his neighbors
تعمّ أهليه وجيرانه
And one who serves a creature suffers humiliation
that engulfs his family and his neighbors.
وَقِفand stand ببابِat the door of اللهِGod مستمطراًseeking rain
وَقِف ببابِ اللهِ مستمطراً
إنعامَهُHis bounty الجمَّabundant وإحسانهand His kindness
إنعامَهُ الجمَّ وإحسانه
And stand at God's door, seeking a shower of
His abundant bounty and His kindness.
ولاand do not تٌُرَجِّhope for النفعَbenefit منfrom غيرهanyone other than Him
ولا تٌُرَجِّ النفعَ من غيره
فالطّرسُfor the parchment قدalready أعطاكhas given you عنوانهits heading
فالطّرسُ قد أعطاك عنوانه
And do not hope for benefit from anyone but Him,
for the parchment has already given you its heading.
