أتدري من تبارز بالذّنوب

وتعصي الأمر منه على الدّؤوبِ

Do you know who defies with sins

And disobeys the command stubbornly

وتجحد ما حباك من الأيادي

وتنسى ما حماك من الخطوبِ

And denies the favors bestowed upon him

And forgets the calamities that protected him

هو المولى الذي بثِّ العطايا

دراكا في الشّروق وفي الغروب

It is the Master who blessed with gifts

Encompassing you at dawn and dusk

له شهد الوجودُ بعالميه

من الأجسام طُراً والقلوبِ

The existence itself bears witness to Him

In bodies flying high and hearts

فإن له الأوامر والنواهي

وتصريف الظواهر والغيوبِ

To Him belong the orders and prohibitions

And the manifestations of phenomena and the unseen

إلهي عفوك الموعود عمَّن

تلقى الوعد منك على الوجوبِ

My God, your promised forgiveness to those

Who expect the promise from You is a must

فكم أخفيتَ منّي من عيوبٍ

وكم فرَّجت عني من كروبِ

How many flaws of mine You have concealed

And how much anguish You have relieved

فوفقني فأنت تمنّ فضلاً

على العاصي وتغفر كلّ حوبِ

So enable me, for You bestow grace

Upon the disobedient and forgive all sins
