قامَrose إِلَيهاtoward her رَجُلٌa man فيهِin him عُنُفviolence
قامَ إِلَيها رَجُلٌ فيهِ عُنُف
لَهُhe had ذراعٌan arm ذاتُhaving نيرَينِtwo yokes وَكَفand a hand
لَهُ ذراعٌ ذاتُ نيرَينِ وَكَف
A man with violence in him rose toward her.
He had an arm with two yokes, and a hand.
فَقَذّهاso he struck her بَينَbetween قَفاهاthe back of her neck وَالكَتِفand the shoulder
فَقَذّها بَينَ قَفاها وَالكَتِف
فيهاin her كُسورٌfractures رَعِماتٌragged marks وَسُدُفand dark patches
فيها كُسورٌ رَعِماتٌ وَسُدُف
He struck her between the back of her neck and her shoulder.
She had fractures, ragged marks, and dark patches.
وَاِستَيقَنَتand she became certain أَنَّthat الصَليفthe side of the neck مُنعَسِفwrenched
وَاِستَيقَنَت أَنَّ الصَليف مُنعَسِف
كَأَنَّهاas though she غَلثىa ghalthā منamong الرَخمthe vultures تَدِفbeats her wings
كَأَنَّها غَلثى من الرَخم تَدِف
And she knew for certain that the side of her neck was wrenched.
As though she were a ghalthā vulture beating its wings.
