كقطرة من عارض وكاف

A dewdrop of pure glass

Like a drop from a young, slender branch

تبرز للعينين في تجفاف

ذي حمرة مثل دم الرعاف

Appears to the eyes in aridity

With a redness like the blood of veins

فهي فؤاد وهو كالشغاف

ينبوعها أسود كالغداف

فهي وما تضم من نطاف

كغسق بالصبح ذي التحاف
