سمعhearing ولاnor قلبheart ولاnor ناظرseeing eye
سمع ولا قلب ولا ناظر
And a knower of the unseen, without any
He knows the unseen without hearing, heart, or eyes.

يقابلfaces الشمسthe sun فيأتيand so brings بماwith what

she holds within of present tidings,
As if when it first appeared

كأنما حاجبه مذ بدا

as though, since its brow appeared

before her eye, through thought and intuition,
His mind understood all the knowledge
قدalready الهمتهshe inspired it with علمknowledge of ماwhat يحتويcontains
قد الهمته علم ما يحتوي

عليه صدر الفلك الدائر
she had inspired it with knowledge of what
