أجد صنع المباني حين تبنى

أجد صنع المباني حين تبنى

فليس لمن يحل بها حصون

فليس لمن يحل بها حصون

Perfect the construction of buildings as they are built;

I see the buildings constructed, as they are built,

for those who dwell in them have no fortresses.

Yet they are no fortress for those who dwell within.

وأحسن جنة الدنيا الى أن

وأحسن جنة الدنيا الى أن

يكون من القيامة ما يكون

يكون من القيامة ما يكون

And beautify the garden of this world until

The finest garden on earth remains so only until

whatever the Resurrection brings comes to pass.

What will be on Judgement Day comes to pass.

فما الاحسان الا مقلة لا

فما الاحسان الا مقلة لا

تغمض أن يكون لها جفون

تغمض أن يكون لها جفون

For doing good is but an eye that does not

So kindness is but an eyelid that does not

close, even though it has eyelids.

Blink though it has eyelids.
