From Arwa at Minhas al-Fakak there stirred in you

A grief that kills unless another grief overtakes it.

شاذحة الغرة زهرى الضحك

شاذحة الغرة زهرى الضحك

And she of the bracelets has shown us her beauty,

Broad of brow, radiant in laughter.

اريت ان لم يحب حبو المعتبك

انت باذن اللَه ان لم يترك

انت باذن اللَه ان لم يترك

Consider—if he does not crawl like one entangled—

You, by God's leave, if He does not forsake you,

مفتاح حاجات الحبا هن فلك

مفتاح حاجات الحبا هن فلك

الذخر فيها عندنا والاجر لك

الذخر فيها عندنا والاجر لك

Are the key to requests for bounty; be gentle, for yours

Is the treasure in them, kept with us, and yours the reward.
