Arwa at Minhāṣ al-Fakak awakened in you

A sorrow that slays unless another sorrow overtakes it.

وقد ارتنا حسنها ذات المسك

شاذحة الغرة زهرى الضحك

شاذحة الغرة زهرى الضحك

And she with the bracelets has shown us her beauty,

Broad of brow, radiant in laughter.

اريت ان لم يحب حبو المعتبك

انت باذن اللَه ان لم يترك

انت باذن اللَه ان لم يترك

Have you considered—if he does not crawl like one caught in a tangle?

You, by God's leave—if it is not abandoned—

مفتاح حاجات الحبا هن فلك

مفتاح حاجات الحبا هن فلك

الذخر فيها عندنا والاجر لك

الذخر فيها عندنا والاجر لك

Are the key to needs for gifts; as for these, yours is

The lasting credit for them with us, and the reward is yours.
