لدى البابِ منها مُرسَلٌ ووُقُوفُ

My uncle is the one who presented his fine horses to Khosrow;

At the gate, some were let loose and others stood waiting.

عشيّةَ لاقى الترجمانَ وَرَبَّهُ

عشيّةَ لاقى الترجمانَ وَرَبَّهُ

فأدّاه فَرداً والوفودُ عُكوفُ

فأدّاه فَرداً والوفودُ عُكوفُ

That evening he met the interpreter and his master;

Then he ushered him in alone, while the delegations waited.
