كُلُّevery اِمرِئٍperson فيماaccording to how يَدينُhe treats others يُدانُhe is repaid
كُلُّ اِمرِئٍ فيما يَدينُ يُدانُ
سُبحانَglory be to مَنthe One who لَمdid not يَخلُbe empty مِنهُof Him مَكانُany place
سُبحانَ مَن لَم يَخلُ مِنهُ مَكانُ
Every person is repaid according to how he treats others.
Each person is judged according to their faith
Glory be to Him of whom no place is empty.
Glory be to Him who is not confined by space
ياO عامِرَbuilder of الدُنياthe world لِيَسكُنَهاso he may dwell in it وَماyet not
يا عامِرَ الدُنيا لِيَسكُنَها وَما
هِيَit بِالَّتيone that يَبقىremain بِهاin it سُكّانُdwellers
هِيَ بِالَّتي يَبقى بِها سُكّانُ
O you who build up this world to dwell in it—yet
O you who busies himself with this world to settle in it
It is not a place whose dwellers endure.
Yet it is not meant for permanent settlement
تَفنىyou perish وَتَبقىand remains الأَرضُthe earth بَعدَكَafter you مِثلَماjust as
تَفنى وَتَبقى الأَرضُ بَعدَكَ مِثلَما
يَبقىremains المُناخُthe campsite وَتَرحَلُand depart الرُكبانُthe riders
يَبقى المُناخُ وَتَرحَلُ الرُكبانُ
You perish, while the earth remains after you, just as
The earth remains after you just as
The campsite remains while the riders depart.
The climate remains while travelers move on
أَأُسَرُّshould I rejoice? فيin الدُنياthe world بِكُلِّat every زِيادَةٍincrease
أَأُسَرُّ في الدُنيا بِكُلِّ زِيادَةٍ
وَزِيادَتيwhile my increase فيهاin it هِيَit النُقصانُdecrease
وَزِيادَتي فيها هِيَ النُقصانُ
Should I rejoice in this world at every gain,
Should I feel happy about any worldly increase?
When my gain in it is loss?
For my only increase is decrease
