كمhow many واثقٍone who trusts بالعُمرِin life واريتُهُI buried him

وجامعٍand a gatherer فارقتُI parted from ماwhat يجمعhe gathers
وجامعٍ فارقتُ ما يجمع
How many a one, trusting in life, have I laid in the grave;
How many who trusted in life have I buried,
How many put trust in a lifetime that I wish they hadn't
and many a hoarder—from what he gathers I have parted.
And many a gatherer—I have parted from what he gathers.
