Nothing passes across my tongue—

God knows this—except remembrance of you.

وتمثَّلتَ حين كنتَ بعيني

فهي إن غبتَ أو حضرت تَراكا

فهي إن غبتَ أو حضرت تَراكا

You took shape within my sight while you were before my eyes;

And you took form when you were before my eye;

You were visualized when you were in my eyes,

and whether you are absent or present, my eye sees you.

So whether you are absent or present, it sees you.

So if you are absent or present, they see you.
