لستُ من جملةِ المحبين إن لم

لستُ من جملةِ المحبين إن لم

أجعلِ القلبَ بيتَه والمَقاما

أجعلِ القلبَ بيتَه والمَقاما

I am not counted among the lovers unless

I am not among the lovers if I do not

I am not of those lovers if I don't

I make the heart His House and dwelling-place;

Make the heart his house and the station.

Make the heart its house and dwelling place

وطوافي إخالُهُ السيرَ فيه

وطوافي إخالُهُ السيرَ فيه

وهو رُكني إذا أردتُ استلاما

وهو رُكني إذا أردتُ استلاما

my circumambulation, I deem, is the journeying within it,

And I deem my circumambulation to be walking within it;

And make my intimacy with him the tawaf

and it is my sacred Corner whenever I wish to touch it.

And it is my corner when I wish to touch it.

And he is my pillar when I want to touch and hold
