والهجرُ لو سكن الجِنان تحولَّت

والهجرُ لو سكن الجِنان تحولَّت

نِعَمُ الجِنانِ على العبيد جحيما

نِعَمُ الجِنانِ على العبيد جحيما

And if separation dwelt in Paradise, they would turn—

If separation settled in Paradise, it would turn

Paradise’s blessings—into hell for the servants.

The bliss of Paradise into hell for the slaves

والوصلُ لو سكن الجحيمَ تحولّت

والوصلُ لو سكن الجحيمَ تحولّت

نارُ الجحيم على العبيدِ نعيما

نارُ الجحيم على العبيدِ نعيما

And if union dwelt in Hell, it would turn—

And if union settled in Hell, it would transform

Hell’s fire—into bliss for the servants.
