ياO مُعَيِّريyou who lend me بِالصَّدِّthrough rejection ثَوْبَthe robe of السِقامِsickness
يا مُعَيِّري بِالصَّدِّ ثَوْبَ السِقامِ
أَنْتَyou هَمّيmy concern فيin يَقْظَتيmy wakefulness ومَناميand my sleep
أَنْتَ هَمّي في يَقْظَتي ومَنامي
O you who, through rejection, lend me the robe of sickness,
O you who mock my cloak of sickness
You are my concern in my waking and my sleep.
You are my care awake and asleep
أَنْتَyou أُمْنيَتيmy wish فَإِنْso if مِتI die غَمْضاًwith eyes closed
أَنْتَ أُمْنيَتي فَإِنْ مِت غَمْضاً
سَلَّمَتْكhanded you over المُنىwishes إِلىto الأَحْلامِdreams
سَلَّمَتْك المُنى إِلى الأَحْلامِ
You are my wish; so if I die with eyes closed,
You are my wish so if I die with closed eyes
wishes will hand you over to dreams.
Dreams will deliver you to wishes
