Dark-eyed maidens, as they departed, bade us farewell
With tearful eyes that spoke while they were silent.
فَعُيونُهاfor their eyes سَبَجٌjet ونَثْرُand the scattering of دُموعِهاtheir tears
دُرٌّpearls وحُمْرُand the redness of خُدودِهاtheir cheeks ياقوتُruby
For their eyes are jet, and their scattered tears
Are pearls, and the red of their cheeks is ruby.
