ياO بنson of فَهْدِFahd وأَنْتَand you منone who ماnot نراناwe see ourselves
يا بن فَهْدِ وأَنْتَ من ما نرانا
فيin المَعاليlofty distinctions نَرىwe see لَهُfor him مِنْany ضَريبِa peer
في المَعالي نَرى لَهُ مِنْ ضَريبِ
O son of Fahd, you are one for whom we see
O son of Fahd, you are the best of what we see
no peer in lofty distinction.
In glory, we see him having an attribute
زعمclaimed الزَّهْرُthe blossoms أَنَّهُthat it كَسَجاياlike qualities
زعم الزَّهْرُ أَنَّهُ كَسَجايا
كَyour شَبيهٌsimilar فيin حسنbeauty حالٍappearance وطيبِand fragrance
كَ شَبيهٌ في حسن حالٍ وطيبِ
The blossoms claimed to be like your virtues,
The flower claimed it was like meadows
alike in fair appearance and sweet fragrance.
A likeness in beauty, state and fragrance
فأَرَيْناهُso we showed it أَنَّهُthat it يَكْذِبُlies الدَّعْthe claim (first part)
فأَرَيْناهُ أَنَّهُ يَكْذِبُ الدَّعْ
وىcompletion of 'claim' فَلَمْbut did not يَلْتَفِتْpay heed إلىto التَكْذيبِthe refutation
وى فَلَمْ يَلْتَفِتْ إلى التَكْذيبِ
So we showed them that their claim was false,
So we showed him that his claim
but they paid no heed to the refutation.
Was false, but he did not heed the falsity
فَبَعثْناso we sent بِهِwith it إليْكَto you لِتَلْقاso that you may meet
فَبَعثْنا بِهِ إليْكَ لِتَلْقا
هُit بِتَصْديقِwith confirmation of قَوْلناour words مِنْfrom قَريبِnearby
هُ بِتَصْديقِ قَوْلنا مِنْ قَريبِ
So we sent them to you, that you might meet
So we sent it to you, to receive it
them and confirm our words at close hand.
And confirm our word from near
