كَأَنَّ بِلادَ اللَهِ في ضيقَ خاتم

عَلَيَّ فَما تَزدادُ طولاً وَلا عَرضاً

It is as though all God’s lands were confined within a narrow ring

As though God's lands lay within a ring's narrow confines

It seems as though God's land is tight as a ring

around me—never growing in length or breadth.

around me, expanding neither in length nor in breadth.

Yet it neither grows longer nor wider for me
