Indeed, I say to a gray hair I caught sight of

in my parting, when I granted it my aversion:

Away from me! I shall not desist, even if

my partings are turbaned by your whiteness.

Have I lived but twenty years now gone,

with six more following in their wake?

You have alighted upon the head of one whose heart yearns,

a tireless racer in every field of temptation.

Rarely indeed am I frightened by you; truly,

in whatever I desire, though you restrain me, I press on.

So show yourself in my locks as much as you can—

and I shall meet you with the shears.
