لحية مروان تقي عنبرا
خالطmingled with مسكاًmusk خالصاًpure أذفراstrongly fragrant
خالط مسكاً خالصاً أذفرا
Marwan’s beard shelters ambergris
Marwan's beard exudes pure ambergris
Marwan's beard spews ambergris,
Mingled with pure, strongly fragrant musk;
Mixed with musk absolutely free of impurities
Mixed with pure musk of heavy scent;
فماso they do not يقيمانthey both remain بهاin it ساعةًan hour
فما يقيمان بها ساعةً
ألاexcept that يعودانthey both turn into جميعاًboth together خراshit
ألا يعودان جميعاً خرا
Yet they do not remain in it an hour
That whenever they linger there an hour
They do not dwell therein an hour,
Without both turning into shit.
They both return completely intoxicated
Before becoming utter excrement.
